THE FACTS

EMS is for all adults no matter how old. How does EMS benefit me? How does it work? What scientific evidence is there?

This and more is covered below. Also, visit our FAQ section.

Get Fit Fast with Professional EMS Training - Superior to HIT

The foundation for health, fitness and a well-proportioned figure is an active system of muscles. Physical fitness also has an impact on our mental well-being. These positive effects are achieved with EMS (Electrical Muscle Stimulation).

The integral method produces fast, perceivable results, affecting your whole body till deep under its surface. This makes EMS more than merely a training method. It is a fully thought-through system, inviting you to submerge into the new dimension of a full body workout - the strength training of the 21st century.

A recent study by the German University Erlangen - Nurenberg over 14 weeks proved that EMS delivers similar results as weighted HIT (High Intensity Training) but at only half the time invested and at less risk of injury due to the absence of weights.

Get fit, stronger, healthier and happier, faster than with any other training method. A 20 minutes workout, twice a week is enough to reap quick, visible and tangible results, maintaining a well trained body.

Fit for your sport – Improve and increase performance in your favourite sport

More than ever, a powerful, athletic and well trained body is a necessity for success in your favourite sport, no matter if you are a hobby or competitive athlete. To keep up, you need plenty of reserves. But training in the different areas of strength, speed and endurance often consumes huge amounts of time and energy. All these training goals can now be achieved with a highly effective, time-saving method: EMS whole body training!

Healthy workout – Get rid of that nagging back pain and it's easy on your joints!

Back pain is the No. 1 ailment in the population at large. Young and old are affected in equal measures. Stress, unilateral strains, and neglect of the back musculature are the main sources for these complaints.

EMS starts out where traditional methods leave off. With targeted, individually controllable training, even the more deeply seated muscle groups are activated and strengthened. Conventional training can only reach them with difficulty, if at all. The spinal column gains stability, the back feels stronger. Muscular disbalances are evened out and the trunk musculature is strengthened – the ideal way to a healthy, strong back.

Research has proven the efficiency of EMS training to overcome back problems in most cases (Studies at the University of Bayreuth (Boeckh-Behrens/Vatter 2003, Boeckh-Behrens/Walz/Niewöhner 2003, Boeckh-Behrens/Sebelefsky/Grützmacher 2002, Boeckh-Behrens/Stötzel/Benner 2003)):

  • 88% of the subjects were able to reduce their back pain. The frequency and duration of the pain was as much as 80% less.

  • More than 40% of participants complained about constant back pain at the start of the study. The figure was just 9% after 6 weeks of training.

  • The pain totally disappeared in 44% of the patients with chronic complaints.

  • The duration of the typical back pain in everyday life (lifting heavy loads, walking, bending over, heavy physical labor, chores, sports, driving or sitting for long periods of time) reduced up to 30%.

Beauty and Wellness – Effective Body Shaping Perfectly Executed – 20 Minutes That Make Your Day

During the EMS workout nearly all the large muscle groups are simultaneously activated and trained on an individually dosed, targeted basis – even the hard-to-reach muscles on the waist and hips! Metabolic activity is increased, and energy consumption rises. The musculature is built up, excessive fat is converted into energy and reduced – an effect that continues for hours after the training!

The results are visible over time. Effective and sustained body contouring from the buildup of lean muscle mass, with simultaneous reduction of excessive body fat.

The powerful muscle contractions stimulate collagen production and blood flow in the skin. The unattractive clumps of fat are combated effectively. Muscles visibly stand out with greater definition and firmness. Up to a certain age, cellulite can be prevented or fought.

Whether it’s a narrow waist, defined muscles or less fat – studies have confirmed the positive effects of EMS whole body training (Studies at the University of Bayreuth (Boeckh-Behrens/Vatter 2003, Boeckh-Behrens/Walz/Niewöhner 2003, Boeckh-Behrens/Sebelefsky/Grützmacher 2002, Boeckh-Behrens/Stötzel/Benner 2003, Boeckh-Behrens/Treu 2002), a study at the Friedrich Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg (Kemmler/Birlauf/von Stengel 2009)):

  • 87% of participants enthusiastically reported clearly visible body-contouring effects; there was substantially more positive perception of their bodies.

  • 89% felt more firm and taut after the training.

  • The training reduced the percentage of body fat by up to 4% within 6 weeks of EMS training.

  • Women lost an average of 1.5 cm from their waist and hips.

  • Men reduced their abdominal girth by up to 2.3 cm – with a simultaneous muscle buildup of 1-2 cm on their legs, upper arms and chest in each case.

  • Overweight persons lost an average of 3.5 kg and 9% body fat as well as 6.5 cm at the waist and 2 cm on their upper arm circumference, after just 13 weeks of training.

  • Seniors over the age of 65 lost 6.8% of their abdominal fat and 6 cm of their waist circumference.

EMS (Electro Muscle Stimulation) – How It Works

From a technical point of view, EMS is a full body training exercise using current impulses. In everyday life our central nervous system constantly sends electrical impulses to control our muscle actions. EMS uses this natural principle and is able to intensify this process reaching even deeper muscle layers which are hard to activate through conventional training. This is achieved by applying EMS electrodes to the skin directly above the muscle.

EMS is a selective intensification of electrical stimuli from the outside. You gain the best results if you work-out actively while using the EMS device, guided by the FitOrange trainer. Muscles are additionally stimulated through the electrodes while doing a series of low-impact exercises. This combined training leads to an additional increase of tension producing highly effective training results. Your personal trainer can control each muscle group by adjusting the training intensity according to your individual goals and preference. With EMS you achieve visible and tangible success in a very short time. The training is neither painful nor harmful to your body.
